Ghostface Killah Gets His Own Day In New York City

The iconic rapper Ghostface Killah was recognized by the City of New York with his own day as he celebrated his 52nd birthday. Mayor Eric Adams declared May 9 to be Ghostface Killah Day during the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the rapper's new coffee shop, Killah Koffee in Staten Island. "There are so many people coming out here to see a performance, a young person who grew up in public housing and went to public school, and now has a business out here; simply returning to the neighborhood." "That's what it's all about," Adams remarked at the shop's grand opening. "All we want to say is thank you." Thank you for renewing your commitment." "I love each and every one of y'all for coming," Ghostface continued. God bless," he said, expressing gratitude and humility. Gary Perone, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Staten Island Entertainment, which owns the Staten Island Ferryhawks baseball team, presented Ghostface with a team hat and jersey, as well as announcing that a section of the ballpark will be named Shaolin Alley in honor of the Wu-Tang Clan's contributions.
