Wu-Tang Clan Is Taking Wu-Wear Collection To Fortnite

The Wu-Tang Clan will be introduced to a new generation of gamers and music fans when the Staten Island collective makes an appearance in Epic Games' popular battle royale-based shooter Fortnite. While no members of the iconic rap group will appear in the game, cosmetics based on the Wu-Wear clothing that first graced the streets in the mid-'90s will be available for purchase with the game's v-bucks. Fans of the Wu-Tang Clan will be able to purchase an outfit for either male or female characters, a weapon wrap, and an emote, in addition to nods to the Wu-Wear clothing line. According to the official Epic Games website, a glider that plays a snippet of Method Man's chorus from their famous 1993 hit "C.R.E.A.M." every time the player uses it in-game is also available for purchase. RZA expressed his excitement for "a new generation to experience the Wu and Hip-Hop in the Metaverse" when asked about the significance of the collaboration. "Fortnite has been in my household for years," the fearless leader of the Wu-Tang Clan said in a press statement. "It's been a pleasure and joy to watch the game evolve as it has become the go-to pastime." This collaboration is a 'drip' of swag and cools from multiple generations. While Wu-Tang Clan's inclusion in Fortnite's Metaverse is the first for Hip-Golden Hop's Era, this collaboration marks Epic Games' second time working with rappers on this level, following Travis Scott. Scott received a unique skin, emotes, and even a virtual concert where he debuted a new song in his Fortnite debut. His Astronomical concert drew 12.3 million Fortnite players, breaking the previous streaming record. While it is unknown whether the Wu-Tang Clan will eventually receive an in-game concert featuring all of the group's members and unique skins, fans will be able to wear the finest garments in all of Shaolin during the battle in the meantime.
