Dreezy made her debut in the early 2010s, and her presence on underground remixes drew Common's attention. She made her formal full-length debut on Interscope with No Hard Feelings in 2016, after years of releasing mixtapes and EPs. Dreezy began rapping at the age of 14 after being inspired by J. Cole and Lil Wayne. She released her first mixtape, Schizo, in 2014, after a few guest appearances on tracks like Sasha Go Hard, Lil Durk, and Mikey Dollaz. In the same year, she self-released a remix of Nicki Minaj's "Chiraq." Dreezy's version quickly surpassed half a million views, and she was requested to collaborate with Common on the single "Hustle Harder" from his Nobody's Smiling album. They-Not Ready song by Dreezy — Dreezy signed with Interscope Records in 2015 and released two EPs: Call It What You Want and From Now On. No Hard Feelings, her first full-length album, was released in 2016. Dreezy's first charting single as a lead artist, "Body," featuring Jeremih, was certified platinum after debuting at number 15 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and landing at number 101 on the Billboard 200. Following that, the rapper released a run of tracks, including "Spar" with 6lack and Kodak Black in 2017 and "2nd to None" with 2 Chainz in 2018.
